Easter 2014

Dear Kate,

Easter came and went, leaving lots of eggs and chocolates and memories behind!  

You had an Easter Egg hunt at school and did a marvelous job and hunting down eggs, if I do say so myself! 

 You even showed off how brave you were by getting your picture with the "Easter bunny" :)

 You also showed Mommy your favorite swing on the playground.

 And snapped a picture with your teacher, Miss Amber!

 Easter at our house was definitely memorable.  Your silly cousins (Caroline, Harrison and Spencer) all spent the night.  It's always loads of fun with the Ings staying the night!  That bunny decided to leave you a pretty cool princess tent and a few special goodies in your basket.

 including lots of chocolate eggs...

 We got prettied up and took a few pictures and headed to brunch at Gray's on Main.

 Oh shoot, I almost forgot, your silly cousin Caroline decided to make cupcakes on Easter morning!!! Mommy about had a mini stroke, but it was all cleaned up in time for us to go to brunch! 

 The Clark Family Easter brunch!  What a pretty looking group, huh.

 And look at this awesome pic Aunt Amy captured.  We are submitting it for a photo contest :)

 After brunch, we came back to our house, but you sadly needed a nap and missed the egg hunt.  I think you will be okay.
Or, well, maybe you got back at me when I left you alone for a few minutes a few days later and found lots of chocolate egg wrappers on the ground...

 You said you did not have any.  None.  Not a one... hmmmmm....
Also, in perfect style, we forgot to actually dye the easter eggs, so about a week or so later, I had Kipper and Ellie over and we decided we'd dye them after all!!  We had all the stuff, so why not!

Keenland Spring 2014

Dear Kate,

We had another great year at Keenland with Miss Jenny and Mr. Roy, and, of course, their camper!  We loaded up bright and early on Saturday morning and headed to the horse park.  You decided you needed to drive to get us a great spot up front near the horses.  

 The good thing about the camper is we can wear our pjs to the racetrack and change into our pretty dresses once we're ready to head that way!  You and Sister, and the rest of the gang, got spiffed up and off we went!

Right when we got there, I asked you which horse Daddy should bet on and you said "Number 2!!!"  Daddy decided not to listen to you, and lost, and guess who one... Number 2!  For reals.  After that, we asked you every time.  But you also said Number 2 every time.  So really we should have just listened to you in the first place.  You had fun watching the horses, but more fun playing with Sister and Tripp...

 And eating ice cream!!!

 And napping...

 And a little swinging on the bleacher rails!

 Although Daddy didn't win us any money, we all had a great time.  You decided to take matters into your own hands again, as we needed to head on back to the house.

 Mr. Roy took over driving because you found a new interest.

 That night, you refused to wear anything but your mermaid dress up outfit to bed, so, you wore your mermaid dress up outfit to bed.  Did I mention you slept with Daddy??!

 Hooray for horse races!!!!!!

Your First Birthday Party, sort of

Dear Kate,

You went to your first birthday party for a friend without Sister!  It's kind of a big deal!  It's your own personal friend, not family or a family friend, although Claire is sort of a family friend, but anyway, you went to Claire's birthday party!  It was at My Gym and you had so much fun singing and dancing and jumping and playing and, of course, eating cake!!!

Princess Mermaid Loves to Swing

Dear Kate,

You have taken on a whole new level of princessness.  You insist on wearing your princess costumes everywhere.  And, to be honest, Mommy gives in, a lot.  It's just not worth it.  You love it, so why not. You love to swing in them!  

  And jump on the trampoline!

 You even BEG to wear them at night.  To compromise, we found some gowns of Sister and convinced you they were princess pajamas.  For the most part you believed us...

 But typically you wake up and walk down the stairs with a princess dress to put on...

 And I can't get you out of them, so we wear them to the grocery store and to pick up Sister, and, well, everywhere, really...

 Here's you one morning, waiting for me to put on your dress.

 And now we're all smiles!

This is a little out of Mommy's comfort zone because not only did your Sister not really care for princess dresses, she also didn't question what I put on her.  You, my darling sweet angel, argue with me EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.  Pick your battles.  That's my motto with you :)

The Dentist

Dear Kate,

You had your second visit to the dentist and this time was a breeze!  I will give the majority of the credit to your sister, though.  Since she was so excited, you were so excited!  You couldn't wait to get up on the chair, and even insisted on joining Sister for a bit!

When it was your turn, you did perfect!

The nurse said she was so impressed with how well you had improved, AND, no cavities!!!
After the dentist, we enjoyed a lovely day outside with Knox!

Such a big girl!!! Loves you!
