Days with Kate

Dear Kate,
Hey there! It's your Mommy here. We haven't officially met just yet, but seeing as you are currently growing (and kicking) in my belly, I figured now is as good as ever to start documenting our journey together - or rather, my days with Kate! I'm not sure where to start so if I ramble, well, then you will be getting to know the real me real quick :)
You sister Abigail is very, very eager to meet you (not to mention the rest of your family). She 'eats my baby' all. the. time. To me, that's love. She also wonders a lot if you are sleeping. I tell her probably so, but in reality I'm not sure how much sleeping you are doing in there. You are quite the rambunctious baby, so far at least. When Daddy and I went to get the ultrasound, the tech kept laughing at how much you were squirming away, to the point where Mommy had to go back for another - and she again, forgetting that she had mentioned it before, said how squirmy you were! I believe it. I'm really starting to feel all those moves, too! Oh, in case you are wondering, you have been in my belly for almost 25 weeks! We still have until September 25th (or thereabout) to see your beautiful little face (and toes and fingers and nose!). Oh, speaking of, your due date is on your Mimi's birthday. Now, you don't know Mimi too well right now, but let me warn you - YOU WILL. Your big sis loves her some Mimi, as well as the rest of your cousins, so I have no fear that it will be the same for you. And she might just have a little extra love for you if you enter this world on her bday!!!
You are quite the little traveler, too, I might add. Since you've been in Mommy's belly, you have gone on a ski trip (and skied!!) to West Virginia, to Austin (with Big Sis's BFF), on a beach vacation (with the Gang - oh, wait till you meet the gang!), and a trip to Cincinnati. We still have another beach trip in us (hopefully) and of course visits to see your family in both Memphis and Cookeville.
So, your name... yes, your name is Kate, but it wasn't going to be. As a matter of fact, we have changed your name 3 times and we still have 3+ more months to go, although Daddy threatened me that we will NOT change it again! Mommy early on thought you should be named Elizabeth. We told a few people, but told them we weren't sure. After about a month of calling you that, we decided nah, it wasn't working for you, so we went with Molly. I have always loved the name Molly and thought for sure this was the winner, but again, we didn't finalize anything just yet. We went about another month (and confused your big sis to death!) and then just recently I decided Molly wasn't it either. I had my heart set on Kate, and even though I THOUGHT it had to be a more formal, traditional name, I decided it didn't, and Kate was perfect. SO, Kate it is. Kate Westerman Clark, that is. The Westerman is Mommy's maiden name. When Mommy married your Daddy, I had to drop it because of the whole "i go by my middle name" thing (which is another story for another day), so Mommy was happy to bring the Westerman back into our family! I KNOW your Papa Rob will have a little extra love for you for that, no doubt! So you could score the favorite of 2 grandparents if you play your cards right :) As far as Kate goes, I just love it. There's no one named "Kate" in our family, but you do have a cousin named Kateland, who goes by Katie and your great-great grandmother's name was Katie, but that's stretching it. So, no, you're not named after anyone!

Well darling baby girl. We are so eager for you to get here. We're building a whole new house for you and everything!! We've already bought your bedding and I've even bought you a few outfits (to match your sister of course!!). I can't wait for you to meet Abigail and vice versa. You two are going to have such an awesome childhood growing up together and I will document it all!!! I love you, and always will. I'll keep you posted on how things are going/growing inside my belly, and anxiously wait for your arrival!!! Love love love you baby girl!!!
