Dear Kate,
8 months and going strong! That's our motto for this month. You have defeated the army crawl and officially zoom around everywhere. As a matter of fact, you are pulling yourself up at any given opportunity, which as a result has caused multiple boo boos, especially one good one to the eye, but that was on Mimi's watch, not mine. More on that later... The problem with the whole pulling up gig is that you have not learned to get yourself down. So, you pull up on the stair case, then sit there and cry until someone comes and sits you down. Same thing on the microwave shelf, and the oven, and the coffee table, and well, you get the jist of it. I've even taught your sister to help you sit back down!
You are still cute as ever and you love your momma. It's quite a show to take you away from me. Everyone finds it hilarious, well, except you and me. You can be happy as can be, but if I walk into the room and you are not in my arms, you cry, well, scream, until I get there. Good times. Yes, your mommy can be a bit sarcastic at times.
Daddy also thinks you say "da da" and "ABBY" (like you are yelling it), but I have yet to agree. Yes, you do say "da da da da da" and your loud sound does sound like "ABBY" but I just don't think it counts as your first words. We'll see though...
It was very hard to take your picture this month because you are always on the go!!!!
Here's you discovering the steps, literally the day after we put the gate on! We just need to remember to shut the gate, huh!
Mimi came in town like 5 times in this month and one of the times we took a little trip to the zoo...
You took some time out from viewing the animals to munching on a delicacy, your feet.
And then you took a break for something a little better than feet - a bottle! PS - our month goal for #9 is to learn to hold the bottle :)
You enjoyed some swinging...
We also headed to Munford to watch Em and Clara Lee play softball and got a quick visit in with Papa Rob and Gramma. This was your first time staying at Papa Robs and, well, you weren't exactly crazy about his yappy dogs (but none of us really are). When I first walked in, the dogs were barking like crazy, your sister was crying and trying to climb on top of the table, you were screaming, my hands were full and Papa Rob was no where to be found! I thought I might loose it right then and there but finally I let the dogs out and Papa Rob emerged from the back!! Eventually you got used to them, or well, enough to get by, and we enjoyed our visit.
A big month for you sweet Kate! I wouldn't be surprised if you were walking by next month at the pace you are at!!! And according to Daddy, you will be reciting Shakespeare by next month! Whatever!! Love you beautiful baby girl!!! Happy 8 months old!
