Birthday Party!!!

Dear Abby and Kate,
As you both know, we took a little trip to Disney for both of your birthdays.  I promised Daddy know big birthday party since the Disney trip was supposed to be everything (present, party, all the fun, etc), but, well, Daddy should know by now this family is not going without a birthday party.  Abs, you had a few friends from school over, but no family.  So, the Saturday after we got back from Disney (on Thursday night!), we had a dual birthday party for both of you! We celebrated Kate turning 2 and Abby turning 5 with our close family and friends. And, guess what theme it was???? Just guess... That's right - Minnie Mouse!!!!

My two birthday girls got all dolled up and were ready for a party!  We got some yummy treats together, and the party was started!  Mommy made the Minnie Mouse cupcakes and everyone loved them.  They are Miss Kristin's famous chocolate chip cupcakes and are delicious!  We also had fruit bows, you know, cuz Minnie Mouse loves bows :)
And bowtie pasta and bowtie mac n cheese!  Daisy had a garden salad and, of course, we had Hot Dog Hot Dog, Hot Diggity dogs!

It's amazing what you can do with just a little pink and black :)
Here are your mats from Disney.  Instead of a autograph book, we had all your friends from Disney sign a picture frame mat.  It worked out perfectly!!
And what's a Minnie Mouse party without a life size Minnie Mouse!
We have a theme, we have decorations, we have food - now we just need some family to celebrate with!! How about these cousins!

And what about a few games??  Mommy set up Pin the Ears on Abby and Kate!  It was so much fun watching everyone try to pin the ears!

 Abs went first!

She's headed in the right direction...
Oh no!! WAY OFF!!
 Ellie decided to go next!
She's spinning...
And Abby decided to let her just pin them on her instead of the pictures! Silly girl!!!
Oh, but look - Ellie got a pretty good spot!
  Cole went next...

 And was WAY OFF...
But he figured out how to feel his way back to the picture and got a pretty good spot! That little sneaker!!
Little Caroline went next... (and on a side note, we had 3 Caroline's at your party!  Big Caroline (your cousin), Little Caroline (who is in Abby's class and has the little sister named Claire) and the Tiny Caroline (who is Cole and Chloe's new little sister!) - Crazy, huh!)  Anyway, Little Caroline's turn!
Not bad...
Chloe's turn! (big Chloe, that is - we had 2 Chloe's too!)
Ha!! Where is she going??!!

Kate decided she needed some decorations on her, so she just stuck some ears on!
Kipper decided to guard Kate's precious face!
But Sister snuck in there and got some ears on her!!
Little Chloe had a go at Kate's ears...
But we all saw her cheating!!! Caught red handed, or black eared handed :)
Even Katie Bug had a go!!
Em was last to go, but she was definitely not the closest!!

After Pin the Ears, we had a little photography session with some Mickey and Minnie props!!
This picture just makes me laugh.  It's SOOO Clara Lee!
And here's everyone else being silly!

We had some yummy lunch and then it was cupcake time!!!!
We had lots of folks singing Happy Birthday to both of you!
Look at Abby looking at Ellie singing to her!  That makes me smile, too!

 Blow out those candles!
   Big 2 year old!!!
Clara Lee's got a bit of a grin on her face now, huh!
And these girls have a bit of chocolate on their face!

Everyone enjoyed some dessert and for the second year in a row, Mommy forgot the ice cream.  I am beginning to think it's a trend...
Kipper was looking very trendy with his linen shirt and sandals on.

After cake, we had to burn some energy, so we played one last game, Hot Minnie Mouse, similar to Hot Potato, but when the music stopped and you were holding Minnie, you had to pull an activity from the bowl...
 Everyone get ready...
 The music's going!!!
 Pass it, pass it!

Oh no! Big Caroline got it first!
I can't remember now what she had to do, but it was entertaining, nonetheless!
The music started again and this time it stopped on Emily.  Chloe is thinking "thank goodness it wasn't me!"
 Emily is nervous...
And she should be!! She had to sing "Happy Birthday" in Donald Duck's voice and was so embarrassed!!
But she sure was making Abby's day!

All you kiddos thought Emily was HILARIOUS!  And, to be honest, it was pretty funny.  She did a good job.  The music started again, though, so Minnie was passed around...
Oh no, Clara Lee got an activity...
Ah!! She had to do a head stand!  Thankfully our gymnast expert was there to assist her and she completed the task perfectly!
Little Caroline got it next and had to do a crazy crab crawl across the floor, again, doing it perfectly!

Big Caroline was nice enough to read Abby's to her...
and she looks like she either envious or very happy it's not her!
I'll say envious because Abby, you had to spin around 5 times without falling down!

Big Chloe was up next and this was my fave - Do the "Hot Diggity Dog" dance!!

It was so fun, everyone started doing it!!!
Ellie had to make a silly face, but everyone thought it was silly so they started making silly faces, too!

Little Chloe was last but not least with another crazy crab crawl.  At this point, we were all being straight up silly!!
At this point, the 2 hours we allotted for the party was up, but you know us, we can never stop a party on time.  A few friends left, but the majority of our friends/family stayed to hang out/watch UT play Florida.  You two got to open presents and what a hit that was!! You both always do so well with gifts!

 ZEBRA PRINT PILLOW!!!!

It was a fantastic dual birthday party, girls!  I loved that we could share your two birthdays this year.  It seemed quite fitting, didn't it!!  Love both of you SOOO much!  I am so proud of what beautiful, smart and awesome kids you both are growing up to be!

PS - this is how we found Katie bug towards the end of the night, with a bowl full of chocolate!  Sweet thing!
