Snowshoe 2014

Dear Kate,
It's April 17th.  I have failed miserably at documenting your life over the last several months.  I hope this doesn't scare you for too long.  And your first time skiing, too.  Oh man, I sense therapy bills headed my way.  Nah, I bet once I get caught up, you will understand why it has taken me several months to document.  Notice I said once I get caught up, not 'if'!  Here goes nothing!!
SO, we went skiing (back in February), and we had a great time.  We is used loosely, or well, skiing is maybe the word to change, anyway, you didn't particularly LOVE skiing, but we all had a great time on the trip!
We had our typical long drive with an overnight stay in Bristol.  You decided to finally fall asleep in the car around 5:00 pm, which meant you were up ALL. NIGHT. LONG.  Like no joke...
I guess the flash was blinding you.  I was taking this to prove to Daddy that you were, indeed, still awake.  SO, we finally made it to Snowshoe and by Monday, we had you on the slopes.  Sister was off with no problem and you were chasing behind her...

So we decided to test you out...

 Looks good so far, huh...

Looks can be deceiving.  You did not like it, at all.  You cried.  A lot.
And were much happier walking in the snow with your paci.
Or on the Ipad in the room!
That's okay, though.  Ellie bean hated everything about skiing her first time out (your age) and absolutely loves it (and it good!) now.  And don't worry, you had plenty of fun with Mimi.  Did I mention Mimi tagged along!  She loved being with us on our ski trip!
We also ventured to the tubing grounds one night.  We thought you were too young to go, but the nice lady said I could take you if I wanted to, so we did!  You were excited!!!

BUT, by the time we got down the big hill, I think you were a little frightened...
We decided to give it another go with you and skiing...

But posed for a few great photos with all the white snow!
 At first it was tough...
Then for some reason you perked up...
Maybe it was the princesses in your hands that you refused to let go of???
Uh-oh, things look a little shaky...

YOWZERS, it's getting worse and worse...

yeah, you weren't too crazy about that run, either.
And didn't really want to pose for a family photo...
This time, Kipper gave it a run...
Aunt Steph was trying to get him to look at you, but, well, he hated it just as much, but he had a cool mask to cover up his tears!!

 Wait....
 Nope, no fun.

Oh well baby girl, we tried!  And after that day, we were done!  Good news is that it snowed a million feet and you LOVE the snow!!!!  We had such a fun day playing in the million foot snow piles!

Oh, and did I mention you loved the bus rides?!

Oh, and Mimi's chocolate cake.  You for sure loved that!!!
See, you did have a good time on our ski trip!  Here's to many more good times skiing!!!
Love you sweet Kate!
