The month of August was crazy busy for us, so busy Mommy hasn't had too much time to post anything about all the adventures you've been on. A lot of the adventures include Mimi. You've been hanging out with her while Mommy and Daddy have gone on a few adventures on our own. You have so much fun at Mimi's house and especially with Mimi. If Mimi is around, you want nothing to do with Mommy. Everything from getting you out of the carseat, to giving you a bath, to bringing you your milk! If it's not Mimi, it's not welcomed.
You had a fun adventure to Aunt Amy's house one week, for a couple of days. Mommy went out of town with Sarah and Aunt Amy entertained you and Sister with visits to the pet store, the children's museum and a houseful of kiddos, oh, and Daisy, their puppy. You loved the puppy and loved laying in his bed!
One Saturday, Papa Rob popped in town for the day with Grandaddy, your great-grandfather. We got a good visit in, and you got a good nap in. They didn't stick around too long, but it was good seeing them.
You, Sister and Ellie (and Mommy!) had a fun time at the zoo one day. It was nice weather and all the kiddos were back to school, so we had the place to ourselves, well, sort of :)
This picture is classic! I can't believe you convinced Sister to pull you!!
We also introduced you to pigtails, and, I must say, you are ridiculously cute in them. Mommy loves putting them in your hair, but it does get hard sometimes. I have to tell you to make funny faces in the mirror to get you to stand still long enough to get them in!
And, with all adventures come fits... You got really high up on the charts with number of fits, but here towards the end of the month, you have settled back down to a normal 2 year old fit throwing gal. Thank goodness!
Mommy and Sister and Daddy went to Cincinnati and you got to spend the weekend with Mimi. You two did all kinds of fun stuff like watering plants and swimming and learning a new phrase you like to say every time you get ready for a bath - "naked booty!!!!"
We got home Sunday from our trip and were happy to have you back to snuggling with us!
Mimi bought you and Sister new umbrellas (your's with Mo-mo on it!) and what an adventure the 2 of you had in the house with those!!!
Not all adventures are fun and games. You started feeling not to good and struck up a pretty high fever. I got a little concerned on the second day because you kept saying you were hurting on your peep, so Mommy took you in to see Dr. Lee...
Clearly something was wrong, but thankfully it was just a fever virus and not a UTI. Poor baby was so tired and HOT.
Don't worry though, we got you feeling better quickly! Mommy had quite the adventure with getting you a brand new back pack and lunch box, but it was worth it to see the smile on your face!!
We also headed to the Murfreesboro Discovery Center with the Porter folks and boy did you LOVE it - Mommy, too! I can't believe we haven't been before. Such a great place to let you explore on your own, as well as play with your sister and friends.
There were numerous Wal-mart adventures in there, and you and Sister always persuade me to let you ride the ride!
And I can't help but throw in this sweet picture of you hugging on Sister!
Mimi popped in one day and we had an adventure at the Opry Mills mall including lunch at the Aquarium Restaurant. You LOVED it and loved showing us all the fish and even the shark.
And you snuck in a carousel ride with Mimi (you are the cute blurred girl in the back :)
That night Mimi went with Pic-pic to the Titans game and we joined the gang for a 'one last swim of the summer' and Jake's neighborhood pool. We were super excited because we got a picture of all 6 of gang members. Granted, it's not the best picture, but we got you all in it!!
And Sister has taught you well, or, well, taught you. I walked in to this in my closet last week. THAT was an adventure of itself. You learned quickly that you can climb up, but you have problems climbing down...
And Sister taught you to curtsey, too, to make up for the climbing episodes...
She also shared her ice cream, which is always nice of her.
Lots and lots of fun adventures in August. And a couple more, but they warrant their own blog post! Love you sweet pig tailed Kate!
