Dear Kate,
Mammaw turned 75 and we planned a surprise dinner for her! She was super surprised and super happy to see all of her kids, and most of her grandkids and GREAT-grandkids. You weren't too interested in screaming "SURPRISE", but instead preferred sitting in Mimi's lap and munching on bread. I didn't get a picture of you with Mammaw, but did catch a quick one with Sister and Clara Lee. Just wanted to include a picture of your great-grandmother. She means the world to everyone in this family and she is the reason this family still gathers in such large quantity without a second thought. Happy Birthday Mammaw!
That was a Sunday night, and so that Monday, we decided to stay in Memphis and head to the zoo with Mimi and Clara Lee. It turned out to be a beautiful day (almost hot at some points of the day!) but we didn't realize that the zoo had 'winter' hours! We couldn't feed the giraffes or ride the camels and even some of the animals were in for the winter. Oh well, we still had a blast and saw plenty of animals to satisfy our cravings :)If you didn't notice, you did EVERYTHING Sister or CL did.
After the zoo, we took Clara Lee home and some how a bee stung you through your pants!!! We couldn't believe it but the second we saw your knee we knew you weren't kidding when you screamed "BEEEEEEEEEE"! Uncle Jason was quick to find some tobacco to sooth the pain. It's the country way of mending bee wounds.
One night (and I can't remember why...) but Aunt Steph and Uncle Jaybee took you to Mexican with them. Oh, wait, I remember now, or I think I do. We will just assume this was then - Daddy and Mommy went to the Justin Timberlake concert and Aunt Carly babysat for us. It was just you and Aunt Carly, so Uncle Jaybee asked you two to join them at Mexican. He sent me this picture. I think you were trying to be Justin and convince us to take you to his next concert...
Sadly, we didn't, but unsadly, I did go AGAIN! On that Monday, Mommy headed to Memphis with you and Sister in tow and met Mimi at the interstate exit to drop you off. I was headed to the most epic concert EVA! That's right, Justin Timberlake IN Memphis. Woo-hoo!! Okay, fine, you may not understand right now, but one day you will...One day. In the meantime, look how excited we are!
And look how awesome he is! Yep, your mom was jammin' out to Justin Timberlake at 35 years old. Member that when you think I am so uncool in about 10 years...
Don't worry, though. Just because you weren't at the concert doesn't mean you weren't getting special treat either...
Mimi just HAD to get you donuts for breakfast. But look, she included a banana and strawberries, so I guess that's not too bad, huh!
Loves you!
